First blog in a LONG time!

Not sure what happened, but here I am again.  I swear I had a blogger account before, but I am now starting over with my gmail account.  Not that there was much of anything interesting to be lost on the old blog (HA!).

I think my plan on this blog will be creativity.  All things crafty (which is my LOVE!).  I'm sure life will slip into the mix from time to time, which, how could that possibly be avoided?

I am currently living in northern Minnesota, near what I refer to as "the North Pole".  I am from northern Indiana, and miss it.  I make trips there yearly to see friends and family.
I am married.  We just celebrated our 6 year anniversary (WOW did that go fast!), and have no kids...well, I consider our fur babies our kids.  Speaking of fur babies, we have a jack russell/rat terrier mix named Clue (hearing the breeds you probably think he is nuts- not the case!), and our house here came complete with a cat named Murphy (seriously, how do people pack up and leave a pet behind??  He is a sweet cat with tons of personality!).

Now for the good stuff:

I learned to knit when I moved up here just over 3 years ago (my knitting 3 year anniversary is coming up SOON!).  I figured with close to 9 months of winter, what the heck else would I do?  Crochet has never been easy for me, so I didn't figure knitting would be either. Boy was I wrong!  I feel in love with it right away!  I knit a little bit of everything, and still have some things that scare the junk out of me.  My goal this winter include knitting a pair of socks, successfully.

I have also dabbled with sewing through the years, but had no idea what I was doing.  Turns out I had a very crappy sewing machine, which had discouraged me from sewing.  With that problem out of the way, and surrounded by many lovely ladies, I am sewing!  I have goals here too.  I just attended my first quilt camp last weekend.  I completed an apron for my hubs (he has been wearing all of the retro frilly pink ones my mom makes me, poor guy!), 2 pillow cases (the "burrito" method, with the finished seams inside), and my first REAL twin-sized quilt top.  Stay tuned for more sewing fun!  :)

I think I have officially given up on the hopes and dreams of being a scrapbooker.  I have the gear, and plenty of pictures (photography is another passion of mine!), but just haven't gotten into it.  We'll see I guess.  I do like to make the occasional card or pretty tag for things ;).

I love crafting and creativity!  I see beauty everywhere and in most things I see daily.  This blog will (hopefully!) inspire others, like so many blogs have inspired me!

Have a creative day!!
